Enrich R (b. 2001) is a contemporary Spanish artist whose minimalist paintings are characterized by a complex layering strategy in which he combines color and organic, abstract forms to create artworks of deep poetic quality.
His works are characterized by their simplicity, harmony and formal beauty and explore concepts such as space and time. Through the skillful use of layering, muted colors and subtle textures, he creates unique works that are both sensual and tense, calm yet powerful. Through modulation and materiality, he strives to achieve an essence that is both poetic and reduced.
Hidden beneath the surface of his works are concepts of physics and memory, which become visible through subtle cracks in the canvas. Muted tones enter into a dialogue with balanced proportions to achieve harmonious compositions.
Inspired by artists such as Mark Rothko, Hernandez Pijuan, Lee Ufan, Gerhard Richter and Giorgio Morandi, Enrich R. is guided by concepts that go beyond pure aesthetics. The artist combines these inspirations into his own form of expression, in which the patina of time and multi-layered application of color in his works create sensuality, energy and tension.
Enrich R’s artistic practice is an exploration of the relationship between physical presence and intellectual idea, a balance between materiality and intuition that challenges space and time at their very foundations.
