The Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona (MACBA), located in Plaça dels Àngels in El Raval in Barcelona, is a museum of contemporary art.
The museum was opened in November 1995 and aims to promote the enjoyment of and interest in art and contemporary culture. MACBA’s collection comprises around 5,000 works, mainly from the mid-20th century and includes Catalan, Spanish and international artists. The building was designed by Richard Meier & Partners.
