The Teshima Art Museum, located on the island of Teshima in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea, is an extraordinary example of the fusion of architecture and nature.
Designed by architect Ryue Nishizawa in collaboration with artist Rei Naito, the building is characterized by its minimalist, teardrop-shaped concrete shell construction. Two openings in the roof allow light, wind and the sounds of nature to enter the interior and provide a contemplative space for visitors.
