The exhibition “Stille Schichten in unserem Inneren / Layered Notions” at the ARTCO Gallery Berlin presents the works of Laura Sachs and Udo Nöger. Both artists engage with themes of surface, silence, complexity, simplicity, and meaning in different ways, inviting visitors to discover the deeper layers of their art.
Udo Nöger works with several layers of painted and cut-up canvases, which he stretches onto frames. His works, often in soft shades of blue and violet, thus appear like a delicate, fragile fabric. Laura Sachs, on the other hand, combines her primed canvases with various materials such as metal, wood, fabric or fine studio dust. Her clear aesthetics and reduced formal language give the works a strong presence in the room.
The works are staged skillfully in the gallery and impressively demonstrate how contemplative and powerful minimalist art can be. The exhibition offers a poetic exploration of the silent layers that touch our inner and outer perception.
