Haf Chair is a minimalist chair by the Polish creative studio Tok Studio that radiates a deep elegance through its simplicity. The chair is the result of a thorough search for a new value in simplicity.
The chair is characterized by its clean, geometric design, which gives it a slender and elegant aesthetic. A particular highlight of the chair are its rear legs, which are twisted by 45 degrees to achieve an intriguing and sublime detail. The seat of the chair is square and simple, and the backrest is slightly inclined without compromising the minimalist character of the design.
The Haf Chair is made entirely of ash wood. The deep navy-blue pigmentation, which is applied meticulously by hand, gives the chair additional sleekness and sophistication. Finally, the wood is coated with two layers of a special linseed oil for indoor use, which not only ensures the longevity of the wood, but also preserves its natural beauty.
The chair is also stackable and uncluttered in the manufacturing process. The seat and backrest are precisely shaped by CNC machining, while the remaining parts are a combination of machine and manual work. This method guarantees efficient and optimal production.
The two founders of the Cracow-based studio, Michał Tokarski and Sonia Bak-Tokarska, have impressively demonstrated with the Haf Chair how a combination of functionality and aesthetics can result in good design.
We wanted to design a chair that is very simple and modest, yet has a distinctive character and is memorable.
