The end of the year is approaching and the last exhibitions of the year are starting. In November, there is an incredibly great selection of exhibitions for minimalist art lovers. Let’s start this month’s selection in New York. David Zwirner presents “Every Which Way,” an installation by Richard Serra that consists of sixteen vertical steel plates. Also in New York, Galerie Amelie, Maison d’art presents the first US exhibition of French artist Jean-Philippe Lagouarde, while ARDEN + WHITE Gallery in New Canaan presents a solo exhibition by Gwen Hardie that explores color gradients under different lighting conditions.
In Knokke, Belgium, the group exhibition “Shift: Abstract Transformations” at Buysse Gallery explores abstract art as an expression of transformative experiences. In Zurich, Galerie Haas is showing works by Frank Gerritz under the title “Seraphic Light”. And in Barcelona, Alzueta Gallery is presenting the exhibition “Safe Haven” by Spanish artist Maria Yelletisch, inspired by her personal retreat in Asturias.
These are my favorites for this month. If you want to explore all shows, click here.

Frank Gerritz – Seraphic Light
Zürich, Galerie Haas Zürich
25 October → 20 December 2024
Galerie Haas in Zurich is showing works by the German artist Frank Gerritz in the exhibition “Seraphic Light”. The artist combines a unique use of materials with precise surface treatment in his abstract, conceptual wall sculptures and large-format drawings. His works are based on clear geometric forms and start from the human figure, dealing with centers and edges, lines and body surfaces, with the definition of volume and space, and playing with contrasts such as light and dark as well as horizontal and vertical forces.

Maria Yelletisch: Safe Haven
Barcelona, Alzueta Gallery Sèneca
07 November → 03 December 2024
Alzueta Gallery presents “Safe Haven”, the second solo exhibition by Spanish artist Maria Yelletisch. The artist presents a series of new works on canvas and a sculptural installation inspired by the impressions and emotions of her personal retreat in Asturias.
Yelletisch uses painting to recreate the sensations and spirit of this refuge through dynamic brushstrokes and a sophisticated play of colors. Each work acts as a “color chart” of the Asturian landscapes, whose beauty and uniqueness are preserved in the painting.
