Sam Lock – Murmurations
St Ives, Anima Mundi Gallery
04 April → 17 May 2025
Anima Mundi Gallery in St. Ives presents “Murmurations”, the second solo exhibition by British artist Sam Lock. The exhibition brings together paintings, sculptures and drawings that oscillate between states of presence and absence. Lock’s gestural, intuitive working method reflects the flow and movement that explore the connection between individual actions and collective processes. “Murmurations” is a haunting reflection on the moment, memory and the hidden interconnectedness of all things.

Giving Shape To Space: Frecon, Sandback, Taylor

David Zwirner presents the group exhibition “Giving Shape to Space: Frecon, Sandback, Taylor ” at the gallery at 525 West 19th Street in New York. Ha Chong-Hyun
Seoul, Kukje Gallery
20 March → 11 May 2025
In Seoul, Kukje Gallery presents the solo exhibition of renowned Korean artist Ha Chong-Hyun. The show, which includes around 30 works, focuses on the latest developments in Ha’s famous Conjunction series as well as works from his Post-Conjunction series. Ha, a pioneer of modern Korean painting, has been questioning the materiality and definition of painting for more than 50 years. His distinctive bae-ap-bub method, in which paint is transferred from the back of a hemp cloth to the front through pressure, remains present in his current work. The exhibition emphasizes Ha’s new approaches to color, form and material and shows how he transcends the boundaries of the traditional Korean Dansaekhwa movement.

Hanna Mi Kim
Seoul, Clip Seoul
11 April → 18 April 2025
Also in Seoul, works by the emerging artist Hanna Mi Kim can be seen at the Clip Seoul Gallery. On view are works from her series SANN and HEULG which explore the relationship between material memory, surface and depth. While the oil paintings in the SANN series focus on the quiet presence of mountains —formed through time and layers—, HEULG engages with Korean hanji paper, whose treatment through burning, scraping and layering reveals its fragility and resilience in equal measure. Reflecting Kim’s dialogue with natural elements and traditional materials, the works invite a contemplative exploration of endurance, impermanence and quiet power.

Nuria Maria – “Zilver”
London, Cadogan Gallery
24 April → 24 May 2025
In London, Cadogan Gallery presents the second solo show by Dutch artist Nuria Maria under the title “Zilver”. Inspired by the hilly landscape of Limburg, Maria explores a contemporary interpretation of impressionism in her paintings. Through abstract depictions of nature and light, the artist captures the fleeting and ephemeral nature of moments and makes them tangible on canvas. Central to her work is the combination of light, time and emotion, which merge in her paintings to create a subtle, poetic homage to transience.

Barcelona, Alzueta Gallery
03 April → 09 May 2025
Alzueta Gallery Turó in Barcelona presents Enrich.R’s third solo exhibition entitled “Abstract Poems” from April 3 to May 9. The exhibition shows new, previously unpublished works in which the artist explores abstraction as an intuitive and open language. His painting process is based on spontaneity and reflection, with brushstrokes interpreted as a visual, rhythmic language. The works in the “ARIA” series are characterized by repetition and variation, inspired by musical arias, inviting the viewer to discover their own interpretations and feelings.

For all those who cannot see Enrich.R’s works in Barcelona, there is a chance to view his art in Berlin at the Circle Culture Gallery until the end of May. I visited the exhibition in person and took a look at it.
