The Chair of Preferences is a minimalist chair from the design studio honae based in Seoul. honae is dedicated to exploring and reinterpreting various elements around the keyword “plants,” integrating these elements into a single scene.
The Chair of Preferences is a multipurpose chair that is characterized by its simple, geometric shapes and minimalist aesthetics. However, the clean design of the chair reflects the individuality of the user through its unique details.
There are cut-outs on the backrest and underneath the seat, which can be used for storing and organizing items such as work tools, plants, books, or even wine bottles. These functional details turn the chair into a personal companion in everyday life and impressively demonstrate why it is named “chair of preferences”.
honae Studio was founded by Lee Joo-ho, whose approach to design is deeply rooted in the observation and exploration of the object itself. His creative process often begins with an accidental discovery and is used as a source of inspiration for further exploration and experimentation. This results in unique uses and atmospheres characterized by different materials, shapes, proportions and sizes.
This unique philosophy is reflected in the Chair of Preferences, where serendipitous discoveries and the exploration of novelty led to a unique and functional design.
