Elements: Jonathan Barber, David Quinn & Adam Taylor

The &gallery in Edinburgh is showing a group exhibition of works by artists Jonathan Barber, David Quinn and Adam Taylor. All three artists are known for their minimalist aesthetic, which they use to emphasize essential elements of their works and draw the viewer into a deeper contemplation.

Jonathan Barber creates abstract works that explore light, darkness, form, movement and presence, and the interplay between landscape and negative space. David Quinn (b. 1971) is an Irish artist known for his small-format, abstract and minimalist paintings. He considers his works, which he describes as visual haikus, to be reflections on the transience of time and an expression of his meditative creative process.
And Adam Taylor draws inspiration from the coastal landscape of West Wales to create abstract dreamscapes that convey a sense of separation through the use of grids and a reduced color spectrum.
