Jean-Baptiste Besançon

Jacob Bjorn Gallery in Aarhus is presenting the first solo exhibition of French painter Jean-Baptiste Besançon (b. 1985) in its rooms from April 12 to May 10. On display are new, meditative abstract paintings.

His large-format works are often created on the floor, where he treats unprimed cotton and linen canvases with thick layers of acrylic paint, which he applies with a brush, sponge or palette knife, then removes and thins again.
