“Gli scacchi” (meaning the chess) by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia is a beautiful fusion of minimalist art and design. The series, originally designed in 1971, functions as both modular tables and seating, and the connection possibilities between the different shapes emphasize the sense of composition and functional requirements of the user. Made of black Duraplum plastic, the tables have an elegant yet strong structure. This timeless work of art is an incredible example of Bellini’s creative genius. Truly a testament to the beauty of art and design combined.
