The design studio Per Capita, founded by architect and industrial designer Jon Liow, presents the concept of a modern desk lamp. The Hide & Seek lamp is characterized by its minimalist appearance and reflects the studio’s vision and philosophy of improving everyday life through well-thought-out design.
The Hide & Seek lamp interactively connects the user with light by addressing the relationship between veiling and unveiling. This is made possible by a simple aluminium sleeve that conceals or exposes the tubular light source. The clean design language is complemented by welded extruded profiles that form the body of the lamp. A filigree knurled knob on the base serves both as an on/off switch and as a dimmable light control and is the only tactile interface of the otherwise restrained design of the lamp.
The Hide & Seek lamp showcases Per Capita’s dedication to enhancing daily interactions with well-designed items. The design studio’s aim is to encourage a more considered way of life through collaborations and its own ideas, while promoting high-quality, handcrafted design. The Hide & Seek lamp is an example of how a sophisticated concept can lead to a practical and aesthetic design object that accompanies and inspires users in their everyday lives.
We believe that when design is truly valued, it delivers a more holistic, impactful, and higher-valued experience.
