Jürgen Heinz (b. 1969) is a German metal sculptor. His minimalist and abstract work, which focuses on the use of steel, uniquely combines the archaic material with gentle movement. With his talent and creative vision, Heinz has created a new level of artistic expression that leaves viewers amazed and thought-provoking.
Jürgen Heinz is a master at playing with weight and form, harmonies and contrasts, gravity, and weightlessness. His “Moving Sculptures” (see images below), are a prime example of the artist’s ability to bring seemingly static objects to life. At first, his artworks appear to be massive and immobile steel sculptures, but a closer look reveals their impressive mobility and liveliness. A slight impulse is enough to set the sculptures in motion and create an almost intangible connection between the viewer and the artwork.
Jürgen Heinz’ artworks are exhibited at international art fairs such as ART KARLSRUHE, ART STRASBOURG, ART BRUSSELS, and BASEL CONTEMPORARY. His sculptures can be found both temporarily and permanently in public spaces as well as in museums and art spaces, for example in the sculpture hall of the Foundation for Concrete Art Roland Phleps or the Museum Stangenberg Merck.
The artist himself aptly describes his work with the words: “The soul of the object comes out through movement.”
