Falke Svatun is a product designer from Norway. He studied industrial design at the University of Technology in Sydney. After graduating he worked in Copenhagen for Søren Rose Studio and Norm Architects. In 2014 he established his own design studio in Oslo.
In 2017, Svatun presented the Kantarell lamp series, a unique three-piece set featuring a powder-coated steel, aluminum, and LED light source. The hidden light source creates a soft and ambient light that can be directed by tilting the head of the floor and side table lamp at a 90-degree angle.
The pendant lamp version is static, while the tall standing and smaller table versions feature an adjustable head, enabling the user to easily alter the composition and direction of light. Allowing for practical lighting as well as an intriguing atmosphere, these illuminative pieces will look great in any modern interior.
Falke Svatun was awarded “Newcomer of the Year” at the Bo Bedre Awards in Oslo in 2016. Svatun’s work is characterized by a minimalist aesthetic with historical references. He aims to create designs that are both fresh and original.
