The LBM table lamp is a minimalist lamp designed by Mexican designer Moisés Hernández. It is a tribute to the iconic architect Luis Barragán and clearly carries Hernández’s signature in terms of design.
Moisés Hernández, who successfully graduated from the Ecole cantonale d’art de Lausanne (ECAL) in Switzerland in 2013 and shortly thereafter founded his own design studio in Mexico City, focuses on improving everyday objects. In his work, Moisés tries to use very simple shapes and complements them with the right colors and textures. In this way, he combines design and function to create a harmonious overall concept. This philosophy is also reflected in the LBM table lamp he designed for Danish manufacturer HAY.
The geometric, minimalist form of the lamp, which stands out in particular for its sober character and the use of the thinnest steel sheets, makes the inspiration of Barragán’s architecture clear. The unusual silhouette, created by the careful folding of a horizontal steel sheet, creates a poetic play of light and shadow.
Integrated LED lighting distributes light evenly and radiates it gently downward, creating a subtle gradient effect with a unique, calming ambiance. The inline step dimmer allows for individual adjustment of light intensity, creating a unique, serene atmosphere. Rounding out the design of the LBM Table Lamp is a sand-colored powder coat finish in a variety of colors, allowing it to blend seamlessly into a wide variety of spaces and interior styles.
