Château La Coste

Château La Coste is located in the heart of one of France’s oldest wine-growing regions, nestled between the historic city of Aix-en-Provence and the picturesque Luberon National Park. This unique winery opens up a world to visitors in which wine, contemporary art and outstanding architecture shine in harmonious unity.

Since its opening in 2011, Château La Coste has become a remarkable cultural destination. On an impressive 500-hectare site, more than forty major works of Contemporary Art are exhibited both in the open air and in several gallery spaces spread throughout the estate. These extraordinary works of art and installations blend seamlessly into the natural beauty of the Provençal landscape.

The estate’s impressive architecture bears the hallmarks of famous architects such as Tadao Ando, Renzo Piano and Oscar Niemeyer (posthumously realized). Equally impressive is the collection of Contemporary Art, which includes works by artists such as Lee Ufan, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Richard Serra, Sean Scully, Alexander Calder and Louise Bourgeois.

Every year, the estate invites renowned artists and architects to visit the domain and be inspired by its breathtaking scenery. They are then given the rare opportunity to create site-specific works that complement and enrich the natural environment. In addition to the permanent collection, Château La Coste regularly organizes temporary exhibitions with works by artists such as Idris Kahn, Park Seo Bo and Alberto Giacometti.
