Galeria Raquel Arnaud in São Paulo is considered a pioneer in the Brazilian art market. Since its founding in 1973 under the original name “Gabinete de Arte,” it has contributed significantly to the development and consolidation of contemporary art.
With a focus on geometric abstraction, constructivist art, and kinetics, as well as art installations, sculptures, paintings, and drawings, it has earned a national and international reputation for its coherent direction and promotion of Brazilian art.
Renowned artists such as Amilcar de Castro, Lygia Clark, Mira Schendel, and Sergio Camargo have contributed significantly to the gallery’s success with their works. In addition, Raquel Arnaud founded the Instituto de Arte Contemporânea (Institute for Contemporary Art) in 1997, which is the only institution in Brazil to systematically catalog artists’ documents.
To this day, the gallery remains an important place for the appreciation and further development of modern abstract art.
