The Lee Ufan Museum is a collaborative project between the artist Lee Ufan and the architect Tadao Ando on the island of Naoshima in Japan. The museum, built mostly underground, exhibits both paintings and sculptures by Lee Ufan that have been created since the 1970s.
The dynamic interaction between Lee’s minimalist works and Ando’s sensitive architecture creates a meditative and contemplative atmosphere. Here, art is presented as an integral part of the environment, allowing visitors to enter into a dialog with the works through the tranquil and secluded setting.
