The Pavelló Mies Van Der Rohe (also known as Barcelona Pavilion), designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and Lilly Reich for the 1929 International Exposition in Barcelona, is an iconic work of modern architecture. Known for its innovative use of materials and its minimalist style, the pavilion embodied the modernist principles of clarity and simplicity.
After being dismantled at the end of the International Exposition, the pavilion was finally reconstructed on its original site between 1983 and 1986. Today it is managed by the Fundació Mies van der Rohe, which preserves the building and promotes research into contemporary architecture.
