Pilotis collection by Malgorzata Bany is inspired by architectural pilotis, the support columns that traditionally raise a building above the ground or water. From this inspiration came decorative tables in various sizes, a console, and a range of smaller accessories.
Malgorzata Bany is an artist and designer from London who completed an MA at the Slade School of Fine Art in painting. Her creative process begins with the exploration of abstract forms that are intuitive, without prescribed function, and open to interpretation. She consistently blurs the lines between art and design, giving her work a unique and minimal form by creating her own pigments, paints, and materials.
The results are both functional and sensual, conveying the same tactile qualities in both the paintings and the furniture. See more of her work on her website.
