U Bench, designed by Christopher Stuart is a remarkable exploration of simplicity and beauty. Crafted from a single sheet of steel, each section is rolled into a half circle and then welded together with one side up and one side down, forming a seamless full circle when viewed from the side. The steel is finished with a blackened patina and a wax finish, giving the U Bench an elegant look that celebrates the beauty of circles.
Christopher Stuart is an American artist and designer who is making waves in the creative world. Having graduated from the Herron School of Art and Design with a BFA in Furniture Design in 2012, Stuart has pushed the boundaries of art and design ever since, further challenging the idea of function.
His work has been widely acclaimed, having been featured in the New York Times T Magazine, Wallpaper Magazine, Fast Company, Pin-Up Magazine, and Sight Unseen’s American Design Hot List 2014 and 2016.
